Habitat Restoration & Conservation

The Appalachian Wildlife Foundation provides information for wildlife habitat improvement and restoration to private landowners. We have the capabilities to provide wildlife and habitat management consultation for multiple wildlife species within multiple habitat types.

We are uniquely qualified in our ability to provide information for wildlife habitat restoration and improvement on lands impacted by mining. No other private sector wildlife conservation organization has the experience or knowledge of mine lands that we possess. Our experience includes designing surface mine reclamation plans that restore habitat for elk, deer, turkeys, neo-tropical migrant songbirds, Northern bobwhite quail, and even honeybees.

The Appalachian Wildlife Foundation has a wealth of experience in designing best management practices for land management operations that impact habitat for fish and wildlife. These include upfront project planning and assessment, design and implementation.
